Nursing Aide Position

Area of Interest: Nursing Aides, Assistants, and Techs

FTE/Hours per pay period: 0.4

Department: PACU- Meth

Shift: 2 days per week; no weekends or holidays; rotating hours 8am-7:30pm; 8 hour shifts.

Under the supervision of an RN, provides direct patient care. Provides technical services and support for patients undergoing surgery and their family. Successful performance contributes to a holistic approach to the delivery of services, improved patient care, and a high level of satisfaction from patients and families.

Responsibilities

• PCTs will perform patient care and treatments under supervision of a RN. Provides and documents care including, but not limited to, activities of daily living, mobility, specimen collection and respiratory support activities as directed by the RN.
• Possess the ability to lift, move, position and transport patients.
• Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.
• Demonstrates initiative to improve quality of care, patient and employee safety, and customer service.
• Team members under the age of 18 may not independently operate mechanical lift equipment.

Qualifications

• License(s)/Certification(s): CNA certification
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.
• Valid Driver's License
• Other: Must be 16 years old or older
• Level 3 Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
